How We Work
We start by helping you decide
There’s a sentence we hear constantly: “I know I want something different — I just don’t know how to describe it.” Most people arrive knowing they love a few things and unsure how they fit together. That’s normal — and it’s where we’re most useful.
Our Kitchen Design Discovery process is built to turn what you’re drawn to into a clear direction, before we specify a single cabinet. It means the choices you make are ones you’ll still be glad about in five years.
We design the whole room, not the cabinet run
Layout and flow. Where light falls at 7am and at 7pm. Where the trash actually needs to be. How two people move past each other when both are cooking. Whether the island is doing work or just taking up floor.
Then hardware, lighting, backsplash, counters, and paint — specified together, as one plan, so nothing arrives looking like it came from a different kitchen.
We stay through installation
A design is only as good as its execution. We coordinate with whoever is building, review selections against the plan, and remain the person in the room who remembers why a decision was made three months ago.
Cabinetry: We’re Not Tied to One Line
Most cabinet dealers carry a single line. Every project they see has to become a case for that line, because it’s the only thing they can sell. We carry several, which means our recommendation can be honest — including when the right answer is not the most expensive one.
Your Contractor, or Ours
Some clients come to us with a builder already hired. Others need an introduction. Both are completely normal.
Already have a contractor you trust? We work alongside them. You keep the relationship you’ve built, and we take on the design, specification, and hundred selection decisions that would otherwise land on their plate.
Need one? We’ll introduce you to our trusted partners — licensed local builders and installers we work with regularly and would use in our own homes.
Either way, the design leadership stays with us, and you have one point of contact from the first conversation to the final reveal.
Designing Kitchens in the Lowcountry
Nothing in a historic Savannah house is square, and it’s easier if everyone says so at the start.
Ceilings tall enough that standard upper cabinets look lost. Walls that have settled an inch across a twelve-foot run. Windows placed for light and ventilation a century before anyone thought about a work triangle. Chimney chases you cannot move.
We work in the Historic District, Ardsley Park, Isle of Hope, Wilmington Island, The Landings, and Skidaway — and these conditions repeat often enough that we design for them rather than around them. Sometimes the chimney chase becomes the range wall. Sometimes the sink sits four inches off center under a window, and it’s right.
